The desire of living

The desire of living is a documentary film about East Asian urbanisation and metropolisation. In collaboration with a group of architects, the film, conceived during the exhibition ‘Vertical village’, is inspired on research done in different towns such as Tokyo, Beijing and Taipei where I then worked. The unfolding of the filmed story of five Taipei families make it appear obvious that lodging decently in the capital has become a mere fantasy to a great number of us.

The desire of living est un film documentaire sur l’urbanisation et la métropolisation en Asie de l’est. En collaboration avec un groupe d’architectes, le film conçu à l’occasion de l’exposition ‘’Vertical Village’’ qui s’inspire de recherches réalisées dans différentes villes comme Tokyo, Bejing et Taipei, où je travaillais. En découvrant l’histoire de cinq familles Taipeisiennes dans le film, il apparaît comme une évidence que se loger correctement à la capitale est devenu pour nombres d’entre nous un rêve intouchable.
